A highly cost effective formaldehyde free fixing agent for reactive dyed cellulosic fabrics. It improves wet fastness properties whilst having negligible effect on light fastness. It can also be used to improve fastness on direct dyed shades too.
Wash-fastness together with acid and alkaline perspiration fastness, can in some instances be improved by as much as 2 -3 points.
Improvements in wet fastness properties have also been observed on acid dyed fabric such as silk.
Texdye RDF is incompatible with anionic products; hence apply only as an after treatment following thorough washing of the substrate.
By exhaust
At a typical 10:1 liquor ratio, adjust the pH to between 5.0 - 5.5 and process for 20 - 25 minutes 30°C.
0.2 - 0.5% o.w.g. for pale shades
0.5 - 1.0% o.w.g. for darker shade
By pad:
Again the liquor should be adjusted to pH 5.0 - 5.5
Typically 3-5 g/L should be used on pale shades
5-10 g/L on darker shades
Staining test using Reactive dyed 100% cotton:
3% Everzol BR Red
Dyed fabric (Untreated) staining
Dyed fabric treated with
1% OWG Texdye RDF
3% Cibacron Blue FN-G
Dyed Fabric (Untreated) Staining
Dyed Fabric treated with
1% OWG Texdye RDF
The results show that Texdye RDF has completely prevented the reactive dye from staining the multifibre strips.
