Texfin® C6-D is a premium fluorocarbon based on C6 technology for high quality finishing of cellulosic and synthetic performance textiles to impart durable oil, water and stain repellency.
Texfin® C6-D is capable of sustaining high oil and water repellency results after successive washes (up to 50 washes depending upon the substrate); it is important to tumble dry or hot press to reactivate the chemical after each wash cycle.
Texfin® C6-D is PFOS and PFOA* free (* below detectable limits) thus minimising the environmental impact whilst maintaining the performance compared to C8 polymer products.
The results of a study conducted against a current, premium grade C8 based fluoropolymer illustrates the high technical performance that can be achieved with Texfin® C6-D (Both products were applied at the same add-on level). The results can be seen below. The Substrate tested was 100% woven cotton and was tested for durability for up to 15 washes with very little reduction in performance.
To achieve maximum performances, substrates are required to be free from surfactants / salts and are neutral prior to finishing.
Application levels will vary from substrate to substrate and preliminary trials are recommended to determine optimum levels, however the following figures should provide a suitable starting point.
| 100% Cotton | 30-100g/l at approx 80 % p/u |
| Polyester/Cotton | 20-70g/l at approx 80 % p/u |
| Nylon & Polyester | 15-80g/l at approx 80 % p/u |
Typical dry and cure conditions are 160°C for 1 – 2 minutes
